Since the very start Samara’s conservation mission has been guided by leading experts and the best available science. Every guest receives a Spekboom to plant on the reserve, actively contributing to our restoration initiatives. For those who want to dig a little deeper, we offer hands-on conservation sessions and personalised tours of our rewilding projects.
Activities are subject to reserve needs and may include wildlife monitoring, anti-poaching, camera trapping, land rehabilitation, research assistance and community projects. The experience is particularly well-suited to those with a curious mind and a willingness to get their hands dirty. Children are welcome and catered for with age-appropriate activities.
Guests may also choose to visit some of the community projects supported by Samara, most of which are located in the town of Graaff-Reinet, a 45 minute drive away.
